Pros: Fast, delicious espresso, price, ease of use, sturdy build, compact sizeCons: Seems to use lots of coffee to get a bolder flavored shotOverall: The Capresso Mini is an excellent choice for those who don't want/need a hefty espresso maker but still want a great shot in the morning.
I bought it so I did not have to go to Starbucks all the time and it has saved me. I steam soy milk or soy flavored creamer, which I love. Thanks Capresso. I have had this for a year or so and I just love it. I am the only one in my house that drinks espresso, so I love being able to make myself one.
Friendly customer service rep advised to de-calcify the espresso maker with white vinegar 2oz and water 6 oz mixture to remove calcium build up. After using the machine for 6-7 months every day I had to call customer service because the steam power has dramatically decreased. The reason for the burned taste might come from the high temperature developing by the end of the cycle.
Very happy with the product. Then pour the coffee in your cups, put the carafe back and turn the machine back on for the rest of the coffee to come out. I bought the Capresso 302 in February of 2009.
You can discard that part if it tastes burned to you. After 2 cycles and a just water cycle the machine works like new.It would be nice if it had an auto off switch, I have left it on a few times forgetting to turn it off before leaving for work. A few suggestions: when making coffee for 1 or 2, fill the carafe to the metal ring with water and turn the machine off when half of the espresso has come out.
This way you are not going to burn the coffee.
Makes great espresso and lattes and more. In the future I will buy it again if it is still available. This is a terrific little machine. I had one like this before and when it came time to replace it I bought another brand which was not nearly as good as this machine.
It also made excellent froth. However, if you are looking for 1 - 2 espresso's at a time this machine is great. I recommend but not for a crowd. I love this little machine for the price. I have used professional machines and, of course, this does not compare.
